With payola up but profits down, labels are wondering if paying $100 million to middlemen "fixers" is still a swell business idea. Fine, decent length, Salon on the corruption and idiocies of the US commercial radio/recod promotion machines. Yet one more reason for folks to not listen to commercial radio.
