It's altogether too rare that a US commercial network tackles Africa. ABC's "Nightline" is in the middle of a weeklong series devoted to Congo and the question of the 2 1/2 million who have died there over the last few years. Remarkably free of sentiment and bad tinkly piano and synthesiser washes. The series was made in August and was due to be shown the week of Sept 11 th.
